I am multi-disciplined, which in the past may have been less ideal, but I believe the future of work, especially in technological innovation, is in itself multi-disciplined and requires the collaboration of different teams. It’s more and more important for people to be able to work with other people and I work well with other people.
The first 11 years of my life were anything but normal as the child of a white political activist in Namibia, but when it came to financial security I wanted for very little in life. That changed when my father was killed in a politically motivated assassination in 1989, and suddenly nothing came easy to us as a family. This was only the the first of many life events that taught me interesting things about money, business and life that I want to share with people around the world in the hope that it can help them in some way.
I match everything I do with 3 core values. Meaningful social contribution, relationships and being authentic.
Don’t follow your passion, but always bring it with you.
In 2006 I was a young qualified lawyer with some experience, but couldn’t find employment. I had no choice but to become an entrepreneur, well lets be honest at that time it was just being self-employed really.
However, ever since then I have learnt so many things about life, business and finance. I obtained further qualifications (mainly in financial services) and continue to learn and educate myself all the time.
My mindset is always that of an entrepreneur, which means I am not complacent, get things done and recognize that constant re-imagining is key in today’s business world. I try to assist others to do the same by imparting value through knowledge and experience on a coaching & consultancy basis.
